Breed data limitations

Breed profiles describe general tendencies and averages. Individual animals within any breed can vary significantly in size, temperament, health, and nutritional needs. Mixed breed dogs and cats may differ from either parent breed's typical profile.

Health predisposition information describes conditions that may occur more frequently in a breed. It does not mean your pet will develop these conditions.

Formula accuracy

Calorie estimates use the RER/MER formula from NRC 2006. The National Research Council notes that individual pet needs can vary by as much as 50% from calculated values. Our estimates are starting points for discussion with your veterinarian, not prescriptions.
